We are currently seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator. This role will be based in the West Fargo location. This is a full time position with excellent benefits and the opportunity for overtime pay.

POSITION OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE

Under general supervision, safely operate fork truck to transport parts, material and product to/from various locations in a manner which will consistently support the manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Operate a fork truck to load, transport, and unload parts/materials for production needs.

2. Maintain accurate storage records through audits and material location changes.

3. Performs cycle counts of raw material to ensure inventory accuracy.

4. May make adjustments to inventory discrepancies or report discrepancies to their Supervisor.

5. Perform Safety Inspections of fork trucks daily.

6. Ability to operate Overhead Hoists in the movement of raw materials.

7. Keep supervisor informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity.

8. Required to clean and organize inventory locations to maintain a clean and safe work area.

9. Use the manufacturing software programs (IFS & Novacura) to enter job related information.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

The following personal protective equipment must be worn at all times while performing the duties of the position; on the production floor or in work areas:

1. Steel Toe Shoes

2. Safety Glasses with permanent side shields

3. Hearing protection as needed

4. Cold weather clothing as needed

EDUCATION

Graduation from high school or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED

At least 6 months to one year of related fork truck or inventory control procedures

1. Ability to organize and perform work in a timely and effective manner.

2. Strong working knowledge of the manufacturing process in relation to raw material needs.

3. Strong working knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.

4. Ability to understand, follow and understand routine oral and written instructions.

5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Operate fork trucks outside safely on various ground conditions in any weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

The position has reasonable and safe working conditions in general, but requires the proper use of safety equipment and proper knowledge of safety precautions to maintain the reasonable working conditions. Includes exposure to elevated noise levels and continuous manufacturing process activity. The individual may encounter moderate emotional strain or tension and will constantly by exposes to standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) and other environmental conditions normally present in a modern manufacturing plant.
