COMPANY PROFILE
Incorporated in Texas in 1966, Bo-Mac originally focused on providing civil, pipeline and other construction services for the petroleum exploration industry. In 1974, pile driving capability was added and our primary market expanded to include construction related to the oil and gas refining industry and the petrochemical processing industry. Asphalt manufacturing and paving capabilities were added in 1985 with service primarily to the Texas Department of Transportation. Expansion continued in 1989 with the addition of marine piling and dock construction capabilities.
LEAD ESTIMATOR
Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. in the Beaumont, TX area is offering a challenging and exciting career opportunity in Estimating. We are seeking qualified candidates that are focused on project success and exceeding customer expectations. Qualified candidates must be able to perform all duties listed below safely and follow all of the company’s safety procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares accurate take-offs and completed estimates for assigned projects on all types of contracts ranging from small to large and quite complex in nature.
- Gathers, calculates, and compiles data for use in the bid proposal estimates.
- Solicits and coordinates sub-trade bids and supplier quotes for labor, material, and equipment to meet project specifications and budget requirements.
- Prepares detailed project cost estimates and bids.
- Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders subcontracts, productivity analysis reports and man hour figures to ensure accuracy in bid process.
- Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work.
- Assists with maximizing profitability with a focus on long term growth without compromising safety or quality by monitoring cash flow, project margins, labor planning and spending while preparing a bid on a project.
- Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the field organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience, plus five years of experience supporting similar key position responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
- Experienced command of construction cost estimating software and Takeoff Systems.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of general and subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications, construction means, methods and materials.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Advanced knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
Preferred Qualification
- Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management.
- Experience with Primavera P6/Microsoft Project, and HCSS Heavy Bid are a plus.
