Position Overview

Proper Grit, located on the ground floor of The Ben, is a whisky and supper club–inspired restaurant blending classic American cuisine with modern flair. Its bar is the heart of the space, where guests gather to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and curated experiences. As a Bartender, you are both artist and storyteller—crafting drinks with precision, engaging guests with warmth, and creating moments that linger long after the last sip. You ensure each visit is seamless, memorable, and reflective of Proper Grit’s elevated, luxurious atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve beverages with precision, consistency, and artistry, from classic cocktails to innovative creations.

Engage guests with authentic conversation, offering thoughtful recommendations and sharing the stories behind our menu.

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar, upholding Proper Grit’s luxury presentation standards.

Support seamless dining experiences by collaborating with servers, hosts, and culinary teams.

Anticipate guest needs with grace, ensuring every interaction is memorable and effortless.

Adhere to all responsible alcohol service, health, and safety regulations.

Elevate the Proper Grit bar experience, ensuring each guest feels like part of the story.

Qualifications

Previous bartending experience in a luxury, fine dining, or high-volume hospitality setting preferred.

Expertise in classic cocktail preparation and enthusiasm for modern mixology trends.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to connect with guests.

Detail-oriented, polished, and professional with a passion for service.

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Food handler and alcohol service certifications preferred.
