As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, CNS Healthcare's mission is to serve the people of our communities. The Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD)Therapist provides therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities through individual, family, and group modalities. They help individuals in the program work through their thoughts and feelings, learning new coping skills to reach their goals through a variety of different therapy modalities and other evidence-based practices.

Please Note: This position provides opportunities for some remote flexibility upon the successful completion of the training/onboarding period.

Compensation Range:

The starting pay for this position is $47,600 - $56,000 for limited licensed candidates, and $51,850 - $61,000 annual salary for fully licensed candidates, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

  • Provides individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and case management services utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Provide thorough and complete integrated biopsychosocial assessment, at intake and annually, to assess person served history and identify treatment needs using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Develops a person-centered plan with each assigned person served to identify needs and interventions to meet those needs and reviews plan at stated levels.
  • Conduct visits with assigned person served in the primarily in an office setting in alignment with the individual plan of service (IPOS) to ensure level of care is adequate to the needs of the client.
  • Complete the appropriate level of functioning assessments at policy stated intervals.
  • Connect families to community resources and provide education on how to access and utilize supports independently.
  • Focuses on improving functional skills in the areas of education, employment, social supports, wellness, self-management, and residential stability.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed. Completion of lethality risk assessments as indicated (e.g. suicide/homicide/potential for violence/substance use) with dispositions and recommendations that are included in IPOS.
  • Participate in applicable team meetings as assigned to promote coordination of care.
  • Provide basic coordination of services for each assigned person served as needed or required by the treatment plan to coordinate treatment services.
  • Complete all required documentation completely, accurately, and in accordance with CNS
  • Meet direct service productivity and documentation standards per agency and program expectations.
  • May provide transportation to individuals served as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with quality care initiatives including Meaningful Use (MU), Medicare Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) requirements.
  • Ensure that the CNS Healthcare standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served, guests, and staff.
  • Assume responsibility for professional growth by current reading and attendance at educational programs and conferences.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures, corporate compliance program, code of ethics, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, HIPAA standards, and other regulatory programs.

 Qualifications:

Required

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy, AND
  • State licensure: Limited-Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LLMSW), Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW), Limited-Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Temporary Limited-License Psychologist (TLLP), Limited-Licensed Psychologist (LLP), OR Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disability Professional:
    1. Possess or obtain Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) designation within 90 days of hire, and then maintain throughout employment
    2. At least 1 year of experience involving the treatment of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, can include internship or field placement experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Transportation or Automobile accessibility with current automobile/vehicle insurance meeting agency policy requirements
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft office products (including Outlook, Word, and Excel), and electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Ability to contribute to an inclusive environment that recognizes the value and contributions of all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability
  • Ability to work closely with persons with mental or physical limitations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and build positive working relationships
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with all age groups including children; solution focused brief therapy; substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment; stages of change and/or motivational interviewing.
  • Experience in the community mental health setting
  • One year of clinical experience in individual and group psychotherapy under clinical supervision.
  • One year of master-level experience in the examination, evaluation, and evaluation of children with severe emotional disturbances.
