Network Administrator

Permanent position: 

Location: Secaucus, NJ

Job Description:Responsible for providing technical and administration network services including LAN/WAN, VOIP, compute and storage, telecom support, and services for all domestic and international locations. This position will provide strong hands-on technical skills to provide high-level technical services and strategy in a fast paced corporate, retail stores, and DC environment. This position will troubleshoot technology related problems that might include routing, datacenter design, troubleshooting intermittent loss, latency issues, system connectivity, and equipment failure.

Required Skills:

  • Establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyze workflow, access, information, and security requirements, and design router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Establish network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; define network policies and procedures; and establish connections and firewalls
  • Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis and performance tuning; troubleshoot network problems and escalate problems to vendor
  • Secure network by developing network access and maintaining documentation
  • Upgrade network by conferring with vendors; develop, test, evaluate, and install enhancements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on technical skills
  • Experience with advanced network concepts and technologies such as QoS, CoS, IDS/IPS, VoIP, flow control
  • Must have relevant hands-on experience with the following technology or equivalent:
    • Cisco switches, routers, firewall, VPN, VOIP, and wireless access
    • Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 200x servers, Exchange 201x servers
    • VMware virtualization
    • IBM or Client blade systems and file servers
    • SAN and NAS enterprise storage solutions
    • F5/Citrix Netscaler or other load balancer

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment
  • Thorough understanding of the TCP/IP suite
  • Knowledge of implementing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF
  • Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
