• 2+ years of recent hands-on experience as a ServiceNow administrator
• Proven ability to perform all administrative tasks within a ServiceNow environment
• Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow incident management
• Good knowledge of other ServiceNow modules such as but not limited to CMDB, Knowledge management, Self-Service, etc. desirable
• Familiar with reporting and data exports
• Good ITIL v.3 knowledge – basic certification desirable
• Good team player
The ServiceNow Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of ServiceNow applications supporting the ITIL process - Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Asset, Service Catalog and other service modules. Responsibilities include generating quality information, reports and executing policies and procedures under the guidance of the ServiceNow platform owner. The ServiceNow Administrator scope is the global ServiceNow configuration, support, daily operations and training across the IT Service Desk, Operations, Engineering, Application teams and, business users.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
• General support, administration and maintenance of ServiceNow platform and associated applications.
• Work closely with functional teams and process owners to build requested items and tasks using workflows to manage processes from the customer to the fulfillment teams.
• Working closely with ServiceNow functional team, configure and improve core and custom applications.
• Work directly with end users to resolve support issues within ServiceNow.
• Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.
• Develop systems integrations and process automation
• Create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts and ACLs including advanced scripting of each.
• Create and configure Notifications, UI pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, etc. in ServiceNow
• Configuring and managing Discovery and Orchestration
• Coordinate application and platform upgrades and validation
• Load, manipulate and maintain data between Service-now and other systems
• Create ServiceNow reports and dashboards
• Track reuse and prioritize updates; develop other KPI’s related to KM
• Ensure that user feedback is incorporated into completed documents for future revisions. Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) of articles is a key performance metric for the success of the administrator
• Identify, train and communicate best practices related to ServiceNow development and usage
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years ServiceNow administration in an enterprise environment.
• Experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery
• Certification in ServiceNow System Administration desired
• Must be technically savvy and able to design and build applications that meet business goals and objectives
• Proven experience implementing and customizing a web architected, n-tiered enterprise application
• Familiar with Service Oriented architecture and web services integration (SOAP, WSDL, REST)
• Experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML
• Familiar with LDAP, MS Active Directory, ADFS
• Integration (interfacing) of enterprise software systems
• Experience creating ServiceNow update sets, promoting and testing through multiple instances and into production.
