Sr. Desktop Mobility Engineer
Position Description:
Our client is recruiting a Desktop Mobility Architect/Engineer position on the Mobile Engineering Team. This group is responsible for delivering Device Management Services and Solutions for Kroger enterprise locations. This position will report to the IT Desktop Engineering Manager working out of the Cincinnati, OH, Blue Ash Technical Center.
Kroger is recruiting a Desktop Mobility Architect/Engineer for a position on the Mobility Engineering Team. A strong candidate has experience addressing rapidly changing mobility management environments and is able to effectively translate business strategies into evolutionary technical designs. We are looking for a candidate with mobile management experience including cellular, wifi, and Bluetooth devices on Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft Windows Phone/Mobile/CE operating systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Field project requests for mobile requirements and work with project teams to recommend fiscally responsible and forward thinking mobile solutions balancing device connectivity, security, management, durability, and functionality
Continuously maintain, and administer mobile device management and security infrastructure platforms
Maintain mobile device services including hardware certification, OS imaging, testing and certification, inventory, software distribution, and policy compliance
Work with Service Transition teams to build and operationalize support processes according to project plan and documented support flow
Clearly communicate and advocate proposed mobility management architectures
Ensure adherence to architecture standards and roadmaps
Skills and Requirements:
1+ years of demonstrated technical experience in architecture or engineering core Mobility solutions for a medium to large enterprise.
Experience with a mobility management system such as AirWatch, Blackberry BES, Motorola MSP, Microsoft Active Sync
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related discipline is required.
Soft skills as well as technical skills are important in the position.
Technical knowledge of mobile OS design and good understanding of testing methodology, automated processes, load/performance testing.
Demonstrated knowledge of mobility, collaboration and general desktop technologies.
A strong candidate will have experience with Windows desktop management and systems automation/scripting.
