Microsoft Certified Solution Architect (MCSA) must Required.
Scope of Work/Duties
Each assessment process is expected to take 1 — 2 weeks depending on the complexity of the IT environment. The assessment involves going on-site over a few days, setting up a tool, and interviewing key personnel. We require non-intrusive assessment tool to collect data. Nothing will be installed on the client's servers, and all data collections will be done through queries.
All data collected will be confirmed by the client and documented. Data collection will include the IT environment of County departments, including the AD environment, the number, condition and location of computers (desktops, laptops, tablets thin clients and/or mobile devices), servers and Local Area Network (LAN) equipment in various locations throughout the County.
Consultants shall conduct assessments for verification, confirmation and documentation of the AD desktop, server-based infrastructure, and LAN equipment located at various County facilities. They shall document all four (4) environments below in MS Word format and provide a hard and soft copy to the ISD Project Manager in order to complete each assessment:
- Review and document the LAN environment:
- Identify any hubs, switches including brand, model, type (chassis/modular vs. fixed configuration) and device quantity of LAN equipment.
- Determine the location of LAN equipment (e.g. "2 Cisco 29xx switches in SW comm. Closet, 1 Cisco 55xx in main comm. Room", etc.).
- Determine the number of ports per switch, the port types, and percentage in use (e.g. "24 ports of 10/100 Ethernet (15 in use), 2 fiber GigE (1 in use)").
- Note any switches that are using fiber uplinks/downlinks.
- Note if any LAN equipment is supported by Uninterrupted Power Supply/Source (UPS) systems.
- Determine the life cycle of any existing UPS units, both batteries and the chassis.
- Conduct a random sampling of serial numbers of any Cisco LAN hardware for auditing of maintenance contract status.
- Note any obvious infrastructure issues (cable spaghetti, overheated closet temperature, excessive dirt/rust, signs of water, etc.).
- Review and document the AD Environment:
- Review the AD Forest and Domain Functional Levels.
- Domain Controllers, Member servers, Desktops, and Directory-aware appliances.
- Trusts relationships.
- Sites, Subnets and replication Topology.
- DNS, WINS, DHPC and DFS.
- AD OUs and containers.
- Group Policy and settings (include logon scripts, drive mappings, etc.).
- Users and groups (user accounts, home directories, groups and members).
- Certificates/Enterprise PKI.
- AD Application Mode (ADAM) or Lightweight Directory Services (LDS).
- Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) or Forefront Identity Manager (FIM).
- Directory Integrated applications.
- Review and document the Desktop/File/Print environment:
- Identify directory objects and rights.
- Identify and isolate file shares.
- Identify and isolate all data within each dedicated customer environment that must be migrated onto the ITSS hosted Windows servers.
- Identify and isolate users that are assigned into their environment based on their login script.
- Identify and isolate data access for any users other than those in the given by customer environment.
- Identify the number, make and model of Network printers and drivers.
- Identify Network drives and shares.
- Identify all applications and licensing information.
- Calculate and appropriate Storage Area Network (SAN) storage requirements to accommodate the total data to be migrated.
- Ensure that access rights to the shared data are accomplished via AD login scripts already in place, or determine if modifications are required to meet customer's needs.
- Review and document the server environment:
- Identify all servers running inside the client's domain, document type and primary function of server (e.g. AD, application, database, etc).
Qualifications
- Must be a certified Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect (MCSA). Submit proof of certification along with bid submission.
- Must have completed three (3) Enterprise migration engagements of no less than 1,000 users, within the last three (3) years.
Must have completed two (2) implementations of AD solutions and infrastructures engagements, within the last two (2) years at an Enterprise level of no less than 1,000 users.
