Role : Scrum Master

JOB DESCRIPTION :

One of our client is currently seeking 2 SCRUM master for Data Warehouse projects.

The first project is with a Product team handling multiple requests from a variety of stakeholders on an Enterprise Data Warehouse platform.

Experience with Data Warehouse technologies and/or team would be a plus.

The second Project is for a Documentum (Enterprise Document Management Application) platform product team.

Experience with similar technology/team would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide the team and organization on how to use agile values, agile principles, and Scrum practices to delight customers and build a culture of trust, respect, simplicity, courage, transparency, and agility
• Guide the team on self-organization to fill in the intentional gaps left in the agile and Scrum frameworks
• Strive to form the team into one cohesive group, where members succeed and fail together
• Assess the agile and Scrum maturity of the team and organization, and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Remove impediments and guide the team to remove impediments to enable the team to progress
• Conduct retrospectives on a regular cadence and execute on the outputs to help the team and organization improve, and install a culture of continuous improvement
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and questions asked without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving
• Facilitate getting the work done without coercing, assigning, or dictating the work
• Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
• Radiate helpful information to the team and stakeholders outside the team, including ensuring that the Scrum Board and other information radiators are kept current, and can report status of the team anytime, to anyone
• Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
• Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example, with a focus on operating from personal responsibility
• Educate and coach on role expectations – Product Owner, Team Members, Customers, Managers
• Focus on results achieved instead of effort expended
• Celebrate wins regularly with the team and stakeholders
• Promote an environment of innovation and courage, where new ideas are explored and failures are treated as learning experiences
• Know and communicate team capacity, and ensure team commitments are realistic and sustainable
• Maintain a consistent cadence to enable the team to experience flow and provide predictability to the organization
• Demonstrate and uphold team working agreements
• Exhibit a forward-thinking, can-do attitude and an aptitude to embrace change and improve the processes of the team on a daily basis
• Guides and supports the planning and coordination of deployments and releases
• Ensure required artifacts are delivered and meet expectations
• Challenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team and organization
• Ensure the team is staffed and set up for success, and address it as needed

Requirements

• Significant knowledge of agile values, principles, and the Scrum framework
• At least one year experience in the role of Scrum Master or Iteration Manager diligently applying agile and Scrum principles and practices
• Knowledge of and experience with other agile frameworks (Kanban, Extreme Programming, etc.)
• Experience demonstrating, and coaching others in, the areas of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
• Knowledge of and experience with common agile practices, including but not limited to User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and being ‘Done’ at the end of a Sprint
• Significant experience forecasting team budget burn and project budget spend
• Significant experience with release planning and forecasting, aligning delivery expectations with all stakeholders
• Experience applying a wide variety of patterns and techniques to enhance the Scrum framework (for example: Burn down and burn up techniques, various Retrospective formats, team Stand Up patterns, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills with experience engaging personnel at all levels of the organization
• Excellent facilitation skills

Helpful Skills and Experience

• Scrum Master Certification a plus (PSM, CSM)
• Agile Coaching Certification a plus (CSC, ICP-ACC)
• Experience using agile project management software
