SUMMARY AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Data Engineer/Modeler will work closely with the Business Intelligence and stakeholders within the organization transforming their requests into clear requirements and effective solutions. The role will help them gain true insight into their most pressing questions through data analysis and BI. Create and develop a self-service and automation-based reporting environment that supports the organizations strategies. The engineer will mine and model data in the next generation of BI systems that are core to the organization.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Data Engineer/Modeler will participate in the design, development, and support of the corporate operation data store and enterprise data warehouse database environment. This position will require working with project and business teams throughout the software development life cycle to deliver a data model that is consistent with business needs and architectural standards. This is a hands-on role that will require extensive database modeling knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Masters degree a plus).

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

3+ years experience in business analysis techniques and data warehouse design techniques.
3+ years experience in hands-on predictive modeling, using both structured and unstructured data.
3+ years experience designing, deploying, and maintaining relational (conceptual, logical, physical) and dimensional data models for data warehouse/business intelligence.
Experience with ERWIN or similar data modeling tools
Experience deploying and supporting large, complex data warehouse/business intelligence solutions.
Proven track record coordinating with project managers and development teams to deliver successful business intelligence solutions with multiple heterogeneous data sources.
Familiarity with Bill Inmon & Ralph Kimball Data Warehousing methodologies.

Strong written and verbal communications skills including group presentation skills

Strong project management skills in a rapidly changing environment


KIND AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3 yrs experience in a Business Intelligence developer or analysts position in managed care or health care-related environment.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Masters Degree or post-graduate certification in related field is desirable
