Roles and Responsibilities:
* Install, manage, monitor, and backup/recover Redhat Linux servers
* Manage VMware environment
* Setup and administer open source servers, such as Apache, JBoss, etc.
* Apply updates and patches to physical servers and VMWare ESXi servers
* Analyze system logs and identity potential issues
* Configure and maintain load-balancing servers
* Automate and enhance operations by writing scripts and documenting the environment and processes to minimize downtime
* Manage development and test environments and help with training and questions for customer operational environments
* Participate in all aspects of an engineering process from planning to retrospective
* Effectively manage all the major production incidents, taking complete ownership towards the closure of the incident. Ensure regular updates are provided for issues, and liaise with the relevant support teams to ensure minimal downtime/disruption
* Carry out daily checks for all the critical applications and systems; reporting issues and failures as required
* Must be able to work closely with team members and customers
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* High School diploma and 8 years experience in systems adminsitration
* Linux OS shell scripting is a MUST
* Shell Scripting, servers hardening, e.g. Apache
* VMware ESXi environment, including vSphere and vCenter
* Experience with OS & application hardening, vulnerability remediation
* Experience with Active Directory and LDAP are highly desired
* Knowledge of Identity and Access Management technologies- Certificate Authorities, validation, authentication, and One
* Time Passwords (OTP) preferred
* 2+ years experience in networking technologies
* Understanding of basic networking topics, including TCP/IP, routing and switching
* 3+ years' experience with infrastructure technologies upon which applications are built (JBoss EAP, J2EE Application Server, Relational Data Base, Java JDK, Linux, Apache, Oracle, etc.)* Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Position of Public Trust
