Job Description

We are seeking an API Product Owner for a global enterprise organization.    This direct hire/permanent role is based out of Nashville, TN, and can work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.  

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage product portfolio of enterprise digital enablement APIs, to ensure value, utility, stability, performance, efficiency, and strategic enterprise benefit
  • Establish and maintain high-trust relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Utilizes relationships, organizational knowledge, and trends to identify and understand business needs and capability gaps
  • Casts product vision and sets related objectives for development teams
  • Maintains, grooms, and prioritizes product backlogs and transparently provides visibility of the same to all stakeholders
  • Gathers refines, and documents requirements including the creation of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Utilizes experience and understanding of agile best practices to oversee, guide, and direct agile teams 
  • Performs user acceptance testing of backlog items and increments
  • Provides leadership in sprint reviews, including ensuring appropriate stakeholders are engaged
  • Effectively delegates appropriate activities to the development team(s) as required
  • Leads, oversees, and performs data cleanup activities associated with the enterprise API portfolio
  • Leads, oversees and performs documentation of related current state data process and re-engineering of the same, utilizing Six Sigma principles
  • Leads definition of back-end connectivity-related metrics, KPIs, and associated reporting
  • Drives adoption of enterprise back-end connectivity platform across business units, borders, partners, and functions
  • Provides platform adoption/utilization reporting and forecasting
  • Provides product evangelization, consulting, standards enforcement, and education
  • Partners closely with enterprise architects, solution architects, and agency technical leads to ensure solution designs are aligned with back-end connectivity vision and strategy
  • Manages contracts, costs, financials, and forecasts for the enterprise back-end connectivity portfolio and provides business oversight of the same for any IT-funded portions
  • Leads other various Enterprise Digital Services team projects and initiatives as required, including making contributions in the areas of front-end enablement, marketing technology, and e-commerce enablement

Qualifications

  • 10 years of diverse, relevant experience in product ownership and technology, including digital marketing and/or traditional IT
  • 10 years of experience with APIs, including REST, JSON, OAS, RAML, and API management platforms
  • Ability to influence actions and coordinate activity across broad cross-border, cross-business-unit, cross-functional stakeholder groups without direct authority
  • Outstanding communication skills, including fluency in the languages of technology and marketing, and the ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership
  • Experience managing strategic partner and/or agency relationships

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • MBA degree
  • PSPO I or PSPO II certification
  • Automotive, manufacturing industry, and/or retail experience is noce to have 
  • Experience managing individual contributors

Additional Information

This direct hire/permanent role is based out of Nashville, TN, and can work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. This role will offer a salary range of $104,000-$140,000 per year plus a 15% annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
