Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for a direct hire role in Michigan City, IN.  This role will work the second shift from 3:00 am- 12:00 pm. 

In this role, you will plan and supervise maintenance personnel in improvements, repairs and preventive maintenance on all foundry equipment, machining equipment, and facility. Direct Electricians, Maintenance Technicians, and Laborers to a 100 % uptime goal. Support manufacturing to improve safety, quality, maximize productivity, and contribute to the overall profitability of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and enforce all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work place
  • Work as a cross functional team to complete repair and/or improvements that are required.
  • Plan and supervise all repair activities associated with equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Direct the workforce in their work assignments.
  • Provide guidance in troubleshooting of plant equipment.
  • Serve on quality, productivity, and scrap assessment committees.
  • Provide training and to promote continuing education.
  • Purchase parts and services needed in maintaining equipment.
  • Develop process improvements to continually increase production capacities.
  • Provide technical assistance to operations.
  • Maintain a high level of labor / management relations to promote harmony in the work place.
  • Develop and implement the TPM program through CMMS work order system.
  • Develop, schedule, and complete necessary capital projects.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to provide oversight.
  • Promote and develop SPX leadership standards.
  • Manage maintenance parts stores inventory, plant automation, equipment process control system
  • Supervise Building and Grounds activities to include, Mechanics, Carpenters and Equipment Operators.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 2 year Technical Degree or equivalent
  • 6 years combined industrial, mechanical & electrical experience
  • 2 years of leadership / supervisor experience
  • Certification in Advance Hydraulics, Industrial Electricity, Motor Control, & Programmable Logic Controls or equivalent experience
  • Previous Foundry Experience with machine tool concepts

Additional Information

This direct hire role is located onsite in Michigan City, IN and will work from 3:00 am-12:00 pm.  This role will offer a salary, annual bonus, and benefits.
