Job Description

We are seeking a PLC Technician in Emporia, KS. In this role, you will maintain, modify, and troubleshoot factory control systems from various suppliers to improve and maximize reliability/efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of Control systems to minimize production downtime.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in safe behavior and adherence to all product health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Execute planned work orders including special projects, improvements, and installations.
  • Develop and maintain electrical controls documentation.
  • Work with Engineering Controls Manager to maintain Electrical Engineering Compliance in line with company Standards.
  • Maintain factory software, including PLC/Device level firmware revisions.
  • Recommend and initiate cost-saving methods for optimal equipment performance. Proactively perform electrical repairs as required and recommend mechanical repairs.
  • Develop and maintain key systems to ensure a sustainable/highly efficient controls group is in place.
  • Foster learning within the Engineering department and support training/continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a PLC technician role in an industrial environment or equivalent technical degree.
  • Strong engineering and technical skills including PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley control systems.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of industrial network protocols.
  • Possess the ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations.
  • Possess the ability to efficiently use electrical test instrumentation.
  • Have good communication skills to work with plant personnel and vendors.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities are a must.
  • Understanding of Continuous improvement methods.

Additional Information

This full-time role will work on-site in Emporia, KS in a manufacturing environment. This role will pay between $30.90-$32.94 per hour plus bonus incentives
