Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer for a 3 month contract-to-hire in (downtown) Denver, CO.  This role will work with PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento in a collaboartove open environment during normal business hours Monday- Friday (there are no remote options) and will be responsible for: 

  • Developing on-platform solutions and integrations to external systems, adhering to design standards
  • Develop customizations and custom module development as required
  • Collaborating with application architects to define standards and design solutions that meet client requirements
  • Working with embedded testers to build and execute automated testing processes to ensure high-quality code
  • Translating requirements into technical solutions and estimate the level of effort needed to implement them
  • Supporting the delivery of developed implementations, conduct peer code reviews, and share best practices
  • Offering practical experience to enhance the team's skills in constructing scalable web applications with optimal memory management, performance, and scalability
  • Participating in elaboration sessions with clients to understand their vision and requirements, creating a functional design document (FDD)
  • Producing detailed design documentation, unit test plans, and well-documented code artifacts to ensure clear communication and maintainability
  • Attending stand-up meetings, report technical blockers, and attend sprint planning and retrospective meetings for efficient project management
  • Ensure cloud and on-prem implementation, deployment, and backup follows established standards
  • Mentoring junior level engineers to encourage continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a comparable major, or a combination of education and experience

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PHP software application development
  • Possess a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and computer science foundations
  • Proficient in Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2
  • Proficient in PHP-5, PHP-7, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Prototype, XML, Web-Services/WCF, and Web API Restful services
  • Experienced in integrating with 3rd party solutions like Shipping, Tax, and Address Scrub
  • Demonstrate knowledge of modern, efficient web-based development and responsive design technique
  • Experienced in full life-cycle development using the Agile/Scrum project approach
  • Knowledgeable in version control systems and web development
  • Experienced in team lead roles leading offshore development teams
  • Experienced in estimating and project planning
  • Possess a strong foundation in Computer Science, with excellent competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates personal responsibility and accountability in completing tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively with onshore and offshore development team members
  • Experienced in working on existing applications and designing and developing new products and solutions
  • Knowledgeable in Payment gateways such as First Data, Amazon Pay, PayPal, Roku, etc.

Additional Information

This 3- month contract to hire will be located onsite/in the office in Denver, CO (no remote options) and will offer a salary range of $140,000- $145,000 per year upon full time employment (with some flexibility based on experience) along with a comprehensive benefits package.
