Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Beaverton, OR.  

As an Automation Engineer, you will join a team of engineers responsible for capital projects, technical expertise, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing facility.

You will perform various engineering functions requiring a wide range of technical knowledge supporting industrial controls/automation improvements and the introduction of new automated equipment into manufacturing production. A requirement for this position is a demonstrated ability to lead controls/automation focused projects using standard industry methods.

What you will work on

You will specify, design, configure, and implement new plant floor control applications required to meet increased production needs. You will provide technical support to maintain, repair and/or replace instrumentation and controls to improve both reliability and functionality of equipment. You will lead or support electrical safety-related solutions and continuous improvement projects. You will combine industrial controls knowledge and project management skills to drive projects forward. You will interact with process engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality to implement solutions using industrial controls and/or robotics.

Who you will work with

This role is part of the Equipment & Automation Engineering team, reporting to the Equipment & Automation Engineering Manager. You will work multi-functionally with Process Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, and Project Management Teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other manufacturing related degree or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Minimum 5 years of Industrial Controls, Automation or Systems Engineering experience within a high-volume manufacturing production environment
  • Experience with programming/troubleshooting control systems (Rockwell, Siemens)
  • Experience with troubleshooting industrial machinery which requires strong knowledge in both electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems
  • Validated project management skills
  • Great teamwork and communication skills with ability to work with associates of all levels

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with robot integration and vision systems is preferred
  • Experience with relevant Level 3 (SCADA, MES, MOM, IIoT) experience is preferred
  • Experience with safety devices and safety control circuits is preferred
  • Experience in LEAN Manufacturing or similar principles and practices is preferred
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA 79, ANSI/ISA-95 and ANSI/ISA-88 is preferred
  • Experience with industrial network architecture is a plus

Additional Information

This direct hire/permanent role will be located in Beaverton, OR.

This role will offer a salary range between $92,000- $100,000 per year , a 15% annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.  Nationwide relocation is available.
