The Early Childhood Education Division is looking for a motivated ECE Lead Teacher, Teacher, and Teacher Assistants. These positions will provide quality care for preschool age children by creating a safe and nurturing environment. The Preschool Teacher will be part of the childcare team to assess, plan and implement program goals for infants. Duties include curriculum development, assessment, and screening.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning, promoting positive behavior supports and social interactions among children.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children by supervising activities, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and attending to children’s basic needs such as feeding, diapering, and rest.
  • Recognize and cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of each child in the classroom, providing additional support or challenges as needed.
  • Observe and evaluate children’s development, keeping records, and communicating progress to parents/guardians through regular reports or conferences.
  • Encourage family involvement in their child’s education by facilitating open communication, organizing events, and providing resources to support learning at home.
  • Embrace diversity by fostering an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates cultural differences among children and families.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to remain current on best practices, teaching strategies, and child development research.
  • Support compliance with MA EEC licensing regulations and NAEYC Quality Standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other caregivers, educators, specialists, and staff to create a cohesive learning environment that meets the needs of all children.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge obtained through a combination of education and experience meeting EEC standards; associate’s or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Nine months of work experience in an early education setting
  • Skill in interacting appropriately with children, clients, and colleagues
  • Ability to meet the EEC minimum hiring requirements for an infant/toddler or preschool teacher.
  • Experience working in an NAEYC accredited program is a plus
  • All candidates must have a qualifying criminal background check.
