The Occupational Therapist (OT) in our team plays a pivotal role in identifying students who require physical therapy interventions through comprehensive screenings and evaluations. They assess and treat individual children, focusing on enhancing their performance skills and developmental progress. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the OT collaborates in designing and implementing effective treatment programs aligned with each student's individual educational plan. They emphasize the educational significance of therapy treatments, ensuring they contribute to the student's fullest potential and academic growth. Additionally, the OT plans and executes therapy programs within the educational setting, while also developing, implementing, and evaluating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment data. Consultation and advisory services are provided to families, healthcare agencies, and community organizations as required, with ongoing collaboration with the student's physician. Moreover, the OT offers guidance and instruction to students, families, and educational staff regarding occupational therapy procedures, while meticulously maintaining accurate records and reports for each child served or assessed.
