Discipline: Sign Language Interpreter

Location: Near Toccoa, GA

Hours Per Week: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Caseload: 1 Grade School level school child

Start Date: 2024 - 2025 School Year

Description:

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic full time Sign Language Interpreter to fill a vacant position for next school year.

The ideal candidate will perform complex sign language interpreting within a post-secondary setting to facilitate communication amount the deaf or hard of hearing, faculty, students, and staff.

This position will guarantee the candidate full time hours through the end of the year, with placement opportunities within the school district, dependent upon performance once the assignment is complete.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Providing interpreting (American Sign Language) in classroom settings, in situations involving activities, functions and for interdepartmental meetings that are student related.

2.Providing interpreting for school functions outside the classroom, during regularly scheduled school hours.

3.Serve as mentor for student interns.

4.Works with faculty to gain understanding of relevant concepts to better facilities deaf services.

5.Perform administrative support work and program assistance work.

6.Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

·High school graduate or equivalent

·EIPA scores of 3.5 or higher required.

·Expert in American Sign Language.

·No additional certifications needed.
