Job Title: Bilingual School Psychologist

Location: City near Naperville, Illinois

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and culturally competent Bilingual School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year in a school District in Illinois. This role is designed to address the needs of a diverse student population by providing psychological services in both English and Spanish. The Bilingual School Psychologist will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students through assessment, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments in both English and Spanish] to evaluate students' emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies and support plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school personnel.
  • Provide direct counseling and psychological services to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, and other social-emotional challenges.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring special education services.
  • Consult and collaborate with school staff and families to support the integration of students in the educational setting.
  • Lead and participate in professional development sessions to raise awareness and skill level of school staff regarding cultural competence and the psychological needs of bilingual students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of psychological services provided and monitor the progress of interventions.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited program.
  • Valid Illinois School Psychologist License or eligibility to obtain one before the start date.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, particularly with a bilingual population.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to conduct assessments and interventions in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Knowledge of current theories, techniques, and methodologies used in school psychology and bilingual education.
