This position involves providing essential physical therapy services to students across various school districts in Illinois. As a School Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students enhance their physical abilities and improve their participation in school activities. **Responsibilities:**
- Evaluate students' motor skills, strength, range of motion, and functional abilities to develop personalized therapy plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions designed to meet the unique needs of each student, facilitating physical health and mobility.
- Collaborate with school staff, including special education personnel, to integrate physical therapy with educational objectives.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing expert recommendations to support student goals.
- Educate school staff and families on strategies to support the physical development and health of students.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines of school-based physical therapy services.
Requirements
- - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- - Valid Illinois license to practice Physical Therapy.
- - Experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy is preferred.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
