We are currently seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of students within our Illinois school district. As a School Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing counseling, intervention services, and advocacy to students, families, and school staff. **Responsibilities:**
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns impacting students' academic performance and overall well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies for supporting students' social and emotional development within the school environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing emotional distress, trauma, or other critical incidents.
- Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Advocate for students' rights and access to resources, including mental health services, housing assistance, and other community support.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations for students, families, and school staff on topics related to mental health, conflict resolution, and social skills development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, progress notes, and service delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois license to practice as a School Social Worker.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or community settings, with a focus on addressing social and emotional needs.
- Knowledge of counseling theories and evidence-based practices for supporting students' mental health and well-being.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and social justice in working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
