Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for effectively facilitating communication among Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and their hearing peers, mainstream classroom teachers, and other personnel in the school system through the use of American Sign Language and spoken English.
- Provide interpreting during the school day in academic and non-academic settings.
- Confer with educators to plan for interpreting.
- Demonstrate and understand the educational process of interpreting by receiving training specific to job needs.
- To assist students who are deaf or hard of hearing and perform other related duties which benefit the students.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- EIPA scores of 3.5 or higher required.
- Experience working with pediatrics preferred.
