21 July 2024We are excited to offer a School Psychologist Internship position for the upcoming New School Year (NSY). This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student in a school psychology program to gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive educational setting. Under the supervision of licensed school psychologists, the intern will help provide comprehensive psychological services aimed at improving student success and well-being.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with the school psychology team to develop and implement intervention strategies.
- Participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
- Provide support in counseling sessions and behavioral interventions under the guidance of licensed psychologists.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data to monitor student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Engage in professional development activities, including training sessions and supervision meetings, to enhance skills and knowledge in school psychology.
- Support the school psychology team in research and program development projects as needed.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in School Psychology accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) or equivalent.
- Eligibility to participate in an internship as required by academic program.
- Strong interest in educational settings and a commitment to supporting student mental health and academic success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of psychological assessment tools and interventions relevant to a school setting.
