Our school district in Bloomington, Illinois, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. This vital role involves providing occupational therapy services to students across various grade levels, helping them develop and improve the skills necessary for daily living and academic success. You will work collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals to create supportive environments that promote student growth and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students' abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance their functional performance.
• Provide therapy sessions aimed at improving students' motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and executive functioning skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to integrate occupational therapy with students' educational goals.
• Advise and train school staff and family members on how to support the therapeutic objectives at home and in school.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to provide insights and updates regarding students' progress and recommended strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of students' therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports.
• Stay current with the latest research and developments in occupational therapy practices relevant to the educational setting.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois license to practice Occupational Therapy.
• Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred.
• Strong understanding of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, principles, and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students effectively, school staff, and parents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and commitment to students' educational success.
