Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff members in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
• Assess and address students' health needs, including managing chronic conditions, administering medications, and responding to medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHCPs) for students with special medical needs.
• Conduct health screenings, immunization reviews, and health assessments to promote wellness and prevent disease transmission within the school community.
• Educate students, families, and staff members on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and injury prevention.
• Maintain accurate health records, documentation of nursing interventions, and communication with healthcare providers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing is preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to promoting health and wellness in the school community.
