We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a School Occupational Therapist to join our team at a GA-based school near Athens. As a School Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting the developmental and educational needs of K-12th grade students, promoting independence and participation in school activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs, including assessments, evaluations, and individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to develop and implement appropriate interventions to support student success in the academic environment.
- Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement in motor skills, sensory processing, visual perception, and activities of daily living.
- Design and implement therapeutic activities and interventions to address students' occupational therapy goals and objectives within the school setting.
- Provide direct and consultative services to support students' access to and participation in classroom activities, as well as assistive technology and environmental modifications as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and related communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Georgia.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of best practices in school-based occupational therapy, including IDEA regulations and IEP development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with students, families, and staff members.
