Performs difficult technical and responsible administrative worker assisting in the design of electrical service extensions. Assist with operational and field construction problems; Plans and designs “feeder” line and pole line extension, both overhead and underground; Gathers data to be used to design modification and improvements to the power distribution system; Troubleshoots power outages and makes recommendations to crews for restoration; Updates and maintains maps for electrical department; Test PCB transformers and maintains required records; Conducts safety meetings. Ability to lift 75-100 pounds. Valid NC driver’s license required.

Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with specialized training at the community level in electrical engineering and considerable in an electrical engineering design; General knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical utility design; General knowledge of the regulations governing the location and placement of street lights, substation maintenance, operations, and NES codes.
