Automotive Equipment Mechanic

General knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the repair of light automotive passenger cars, trucks, construction and maintenance equipment . Inspects and services automobiles, trucks and other equipment; change tires; responds to road service calls; Installs water pumps, radiators, batteries, brakes and other equipment. Assists senior mechanics with major repair and overhaul work; Inspects city vehicles for compliance to State safety standards; performs custodial, pick-up and delivery chores; performs related tasks as required. Ability to lift 75 – 100 pounds.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in repairing automotive and light power-driven equipment; Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
