Overnight Supervisor Citizens Shoreham location
Friday - Monday 11p-7a 32hrs per week
The pay scale for this position is $15.25 - $16.00 per hour in consideration of education and/or experience-
Citizens has a wide range of residential supports throughout Nassau and Suffolk County. Each person receives individualized supports based on needs identified in a person centered planning process. Staff are trained on each persons level of support, and provides assistance with all activities of daily living and community engagement.
An Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) is a community based home that provides clinical and supportive care to people with ID/DD. People living in an ICF typically require long term care, and have a higher level of need related to medical or behavioral complexities. Clinical supports are provided on-site through an interdisciplinary team process. An ICF is regulated by the NYS Department of Health through an annual auditing process by the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and successful completion and maintenance of AMAP status required
- Two years’ experience working with ID/DD population.
- Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives required
- NYS State Driver’s license and qualified driver status required.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Practices and promotes the agency’s mission statement in every interaction
- Supervises staff on the overnight shift to ensure high quality services; ensures all needs are met and guidelines are followed; ensures a homelike environment is maintained; performs direct support as needed
- Provides ongoing support and supervision to ensure that high quality services are maintained and all needs are met on the overnight shift
- Ensures a safe and clean home by providing support and supervision to ensure household chores are completed as needed
- Adheres to Federal and New York State regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements
- Ensures participation in training of all overnight staff and people supported in quarterly fire drills/evacuation
- Participates in recruiting, training, and evaluation of staff
- Ensures implementation and documentation of all treatment plans and other agency related materials (i.e., goals, communication logs, BM and positioning charts, etc.)
- Serves as member of the inter-disciplinary team as needed by attending and participating in meeting
- Conducts supervisory rounds and documents related issues in the building to ensure effective operation
- Mentors and acts as a role model for new Direct Support Staff by demonstrating supportive routines and by reviewing training manuals, to ensure new employees are sufficiently groomed to complete responsibilities
- Ensures appropriate staffing coverage for the night and morning shifts, and addresses time and attendance issues as needed
- Notifies Administration of any emergency situations
- Provides assistance as needed in the management of behavior and emergency situations
- Monitors general maintenance regarding wheelchairs and adaptive equipment
- Communicates concerns with relevant administrative staff
- Performs all other related duties as requested by supervisor.
This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services and, therefore, is subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check.
