Job Summary: 

Directs and coordinates activities around preparing parts and major assemblies for bodywork and paint for both SR production line. This position will work with Paint department also to ensure the department is providing a quality product for the paint process.

Schedule: M-TH 6-4:30pm

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for delivering clear and concise communication in a timely manner to technicians and supervisor. Communicates company vision and organizational goals and objectives
  • Ensures all safety standards/ policies are met. Conducts regular observations for safety compliance and corrects unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Responsible for employee training and qualifications. Assigns trainers, monitors employees progress and makes changes to station skill requirements as needed.
  • Sets a standard of teamwork in assigned area; coaches and guides employees, set plans for improvement, increase production, overcome obstacles, and achieve on time delivery with high quality to internal customers.
  • Sets the standards for the production line in conjunction with engineering (design, manufacturing, and process), sales/marketing, and operations team. Reviews production orders/schedules to plan the day-to-day department operations.
  • Reviews production schedule, operating reports, and resolves operational issues that come up to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Responsible for hiring and conducting performance reviews
  • Continually strives for process improvement, cost reduction, and labor hour reduction in assigned area.
  • Works to reduce scrap and NCR’s (Non Conformance Reports), stay within guidelines for overtime and monitor absenteeism.
  • Properly reports weekly metrics in a timely manner.    
  • Must be able to fill out work instructions properly, able to understand the planning flow and be able to adjust and explain the planning procedures.
  • Must be able to understand all process specifications and pertinent reference information.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Principles and practices Lean Principles throughout department. (Will be required to lead lean Projects)
  • Attention to detail required. Must be able to work as part of a team.  Ensures that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.  Applies the 6S principle (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety). Complies with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.  May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, or appropriate designee.

Education and/or Experience:                                       

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).  Knowledge of Cirrus manufacturing processes preferred.
