Job Description

Job Title: Data Engineering Intern

Job Location: 17725 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77094

Job Overview:

We are preparing for our 2024 Summer Internship season!

The Data Engineering Intern is an entry-level cross-functional technical position that will assist Christian Brothers Automotive in collecting, administering, and manipulating data to ensure business continuity and allow business units to make informed decisions. This role will leverage software development methodologies to review and refactor applications that will automate a provisioning process using Domo, Smartsheet, and One Login.

• Work with the data engineering team to understand gaps in the existing solution 
• Build a reliable framework to automate the syncing of Payroll data to Domo
• Test and verify reliability of python application

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated individual with a strong interest in data and software application technologies
• Diligent researcher and a self starter
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems
• Proficient in rigorous Quality Assurance
• Agile Project management and organizational skills

Education & Experience

• Up to 1 year of experience working with MySQL databases, including SQL Queries is preferred
• Up to 1 year of experience working with Python is preferred
• Experience performing root cause analysis to determine and resolve issues
• Proficient in web tools, Microsoft or Google office suites and Slack
• Proficient in Email, Calendar and task tracking software

Accountabilities

Accountable to the Brand, including the Franchisees, Technology Solutions team, Home Office team, Leadership team, and ultimately the company President. The Data Engineer Intern will report directly to the Manager of Data Engineering.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
