INTERNSHIP TYPE:               Internship - Master's Level    

HOURS/SCHEDULE:             32 hours/week; Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4PM

PROGRAM/LOCATION:        Roots to Recovery, Willimantic, CT 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: ROOTS TO RECOVERY

 A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. There are 14 beds and it is a 90 day maximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs. Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work during their stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

PROGRAM OUTLINE:

By participating as a Master's Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to clinical mental health & substance abuse evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, working on independent living skills, outreach treatment services and medication evaluation and monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in mental health field.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
