JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 40 hours/wk

ABOUT THE PROGRAMS: MILESTONE AND NEW LIFE CENTER
Milestone is a 7-14 day stabilization intensive residential treatment center designed to accommodate and treat women with a history of substance abuse, trauma and mental health issues. Our comprehensive services are recovery-oriented, gender-responsive and trauma-informed with the goal of helping women find real hope for recovery. Milestone offers individual and group counseling, case management and aftercare planning services. Treatment is individualized and centered around healing and wellness, essential to moving forwards towards employment, housing and family stability. Milestone is part of CHR's Center of Excellence for Women/Women and Children located at our Putnam campus.
CHR's New Life Center is a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program designed to accommodate women with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders who have infants, toddlers under the age of 4yo and/or expectant mothers. Children reside in the facility with their Mothers in order to promote a healthy parental bond with the focus of developing effective parenting skills. Estimated length of stay is 4-6 months with the goal of preparing for a healthy and safe substance free lifestyle. DCF involved Mothers welcomed. Mothers and infants receive medical care at Day Kimball Hospital.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct services to clients supported within the 24/7 residential setting.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the treatment of substance use disorders as well as co-occurring disorders relevant to the population served.
- Intervenes in client differences or conflicts in a way to ensure a positive milieu.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of family and natural support connections for clients served within the programs
- Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain positive and healthy rapport with clients served by building trust and supporting competencies through interest and active engagement.
- Demonstrates the ability to teach and support the learning of a broad range of skills including those related to: coping skills, ADLS and areas of psychoeducation and linkage to community resources and self-help groups.
- Transports clients within the program as needed.
- Documents planned interventions, behavior incidents, and general observations of clients served and assessment of their skills, behavior, and moods in an objective and professional manner.
- Provides integrated behavioral health and medical treatment planning and comprehensive care management of adults with substance use and mental health disorders.
- Maintains knowledge of current ideas, theories and research regarding treatment of individuals with complex behavioral health and medical issues including factors contributing to health care disparities
- Supervises provision of laboratory testing on-site and off-site, according to agency policies
- Develops and provides individual and group treatment and psycho-educational groups designed to aid clients in understanding and maintaining their medications and side effects, as well as how to manage their behavioral health symptoms, improve skills for recovery and living a healthy lifestyle.
- Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
- Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
- Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including: nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
- Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor
- Additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing from an Accredited Nursing Program and RN Licensure.
Experience: Experience working with patients with substance use and mental health disorders. Experience working in a managed care environment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN license to practice in State of CT. CPR/First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.

COMPENSATION*:
$63,634 minimum -$95,452 maximum, dependent upon experience
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
