The Intensive Foster Care (IFC) Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of IFC staff which could include IFC Coordinators and Mobile Response Peer Responders. The IFC Supervisor ensures best practice strategies are provided to stabilize youth enrolled in the IFC program, ensuring safety is always paramount. The IFC Supervisor performs duties related to increasing the skill level of IFC staff and assures care is delivered in a manner consistent with strength-based, family-centered, culturally competent values. The IFC Supervisor offers consultation and education to providers regarding the values of the model, monitors progress toward treatment goals, and assures that all necessary data for evaluation is gathered and recorded. The IFC Supervisor is responsible for ensuring team documentation meets contractual requirements while maintaining fidelity to evidence-based practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures IFC Coordinators manage caseload within the financial parameters of the case rate or other established financial protocol.
  • Ensures IFC team operates within the utilization guidelines established for contracted services.
  • Maintains required census in the IFC program by through building and maintaining relationships with potential referral sources.
  • Ensures that IFC staff use resources to assure that services are based specifically on the needs of the child and family.
  • Assures that effective multi-system team decision making processes are performed and result in clinically efficacious, cost effective, outcome-based plans of care which build upon the strengths and resources of the family and community.
  • Directs staff in proper clinical record keeping, service authorizing, and writing plans of care within the electronic health record.
  • Presents staff with best practices and current treatment innovations.
  • Ensures staff are trained in evidence-based practices as well as meeting all contractor training requirements.
  • Ensures staff are equipped to develop robust safety/crisis plans with resource families and youth, and that plans are updated regularly.
  • Facilitates staff meetings, training, retreats and assists with any reviews/audits from outside stakeholders.
  • Collects staff “Successes” reports for preparation of outcome reports for reporting to payers.
  • Manages youth enrollments, assignments, transfers, and discharges.
  • Works collaboratively with staff across the agency to assure that staffing, billing, and interagency processes are working effectively.
  • Participates in on-call rotation providing supervision and consultation to IFC staff on-call who need direction in crisis situations. Is prepared to accompany staff in the community if necessary in emergent situations.
  • Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Choices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of master’s degree in social work or related human service field.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical/management experience in community-based behavior health and human services with families and children preferred.
  • Clinical Licensure is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in fiscal management activities, team building, and development.
  • Strong knowledge of and genuine respect for youth and adults with mental health issues and a firm commitment to empowering their families.
  • Strong communication and writing skills. Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) a plus.
  • Be certified in the CANS within 30 days of hire and at all times beyond the first 30 days of employment.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to:

    • Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
    • Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Salary Range: $58,000 annually
