Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees facilities (including maintenance and custodial and repair work)
  2. Maintains accurate records for room use and class loads
  3. Meets with corporate office to ensure that facilities information is up to date and repairs are being made as needed
  4. Review all contractual agreements and warranties to ensure appropriate operation of all machinery
  5. Coordinates building repair and maintenance activities
  6. Examines building on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance
  7. Meet with cleaning company to ensure that all contractual obligations and expectations are being met
  8. Ensures copier equipment is in working order and paper supply is sufficient at all times
  9. Meets with corporate office to ensure that facilities information is up to date and repairs are being made as needed
  10. Schedule required maintenance meetings as necessary
  11. Process audio/visual needs and distribute materials as needed
  12. Maintain phones and radios
  13. Arrange for locker cleanup and maintenance/repair at end of year
  14. Arranges for transportation for school trips
  15. Schedule required fire drills with fire department
  16. Assist in development and administrating practices dealing with campus control and security
  17. Maintenance of HVAC system
  18. Maintain Key inventory
  19. Maintain Alarm System
  20. Confirm fire evacuation routes throughout entire facility
  21. Review Master Calendar on a regular basis to accommodate facility and custodial needs for scheduled events
  22. Coordinate with cleaning crew and/or custodian to ensure facility cleanup after all school events
  23. Maintain timeline for summer regarding school opening
  24. Responsible for overseeing the daily opening and closing of school facilities
  25. Determine obsolescence of equip after conferring with corporate office
  26. Determines maintenance priorities and sequence of work
  27. Develops a program of preventive maintenance
  28. Develops emergency repair systems
  29. Devises programs aimed at reducing vandalism, theft and arson
  30. Devise system of safeguarding school owned property
  31. Maintains system for locking, checking and safe-guarding facility
  32. Maintains routine security procedures.
  33. Inspects buildings and grounds
  34. Provides for annual fire and tornado drills and keeps log of same.
  35. Provides for raising and lowering national flag
  36. Supervises custodial services
  37. Works cooperatively with local police on security matters
  38. Assists in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support services

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Medium work: ability to lift, push and/or pull objects, which may approximate 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to six (6) continuous hours.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach, dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects.
  • Ability to smell, taste and feel, in order to determine quality of food products.
  • Work with caustic and non-caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruption and to supervise a variety of tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The employee may be required to work around loud noise.
  • Ability to work in an inside environment.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
