And what will you do?

Summary:                                                                                                          

Minimize material loss from internal and external sources to reduce claims by working with suppliers on root cause analysis, along with corrective actions. Investigate, facilitate and bring warranty claims to resolution from both internal and external sources.

Implement and continuously improve methods to inspect, test and evaluate processes, products and production equipment to ensure customer satisfaction and manage the overall cost of quality to the enterprise.

Implement, monitor (audit) and update all aspects of the CSMI Quality System to comply with internal and 3rd party requirements as identified.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Examine vendor/internal material quality defects and work with vendors/divisions to determine root cause and corrective actions. Track and maintain documentation on results.
  • Perform supplier and internal product/process audits and risk assessments.
  • Validate internal & supplier manufacturing/test/inspection plans and procedures.
  • Understand the internal & supplier specific production steps and methodology and assure failure tracking procedures are followed.
  • Apply advanced problem solving techniques to drive quality and improve material quality.
  • Lead corrective action projects.
  • Investigate and process internal and external warranty claims. Complete documentation and report on findings. Investigate, process and assure compensation for supplier related claims. Assists providers and clients with problems or questions regarding their claims and/or policies.
  • Visit claim sites or suppliers as deemed necessary to resolve outstanding claims.
  • Provide information or testimony for legal disputes.
  • Compiles and prepares statistical data and reports to recognize trends for improvement and implement actions to improve coat of quality
  • Minimize financial losses, without sacrificing the CSMI values and mission.
  • Comply with policy and company procedures.
  • Support Sales and Operations as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on materials and installation questions/issues
  • Manage the Weather Tight Warranty (WTW) process and database.
  • Implement and manage UL, IAS, FM, ICC-ES, Florida and other certification requirements.
  • Perform internal/External audits and lead the Project Validation Committee to secure successful launch of new products/processes.
  • Define, validate, approve, and manage the PPAP process and data base for new/existing products sourced.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:                                                                                    

Minimum Required:

  • · Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related experience in Project Management/Lean Principles and Processes or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong understanding advanced problem solving techniques, statistical controls, failure rate and reliability prediction

  • Knowledge of metals and/or metals paint systems a plus.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent Customer Service skills.

  • Experienced in the claims process.

  • Purchasing experience a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Work is performed in a factory environment and office environment. Factory is unheated and unairconditioned. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires visual acuity to inspect parts and identify failures. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The work will require the periodic operation of factory machinery and equipment. The work is active and requires extensive reading and ability to understand, take, and give verbal and written instruction.  While performing the core function of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and stand.
