JOB SUMMARY: This inside sales position is responsible for successfully managing all elements of their assigned territory to meet/exceed territory goals; handle customer orders, credits, and pricing; and communicate on orders. This role is responsible for maintaining territory volume and managing down customer action plans.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet and exceed goals for their assigned territory in the areas of pounds, sales, gross margin and RMAs.
  • Handles all customer requests for quotes, orders, and credits for their assigned territories.
  • Assists customers with all questions concerning orders, invoices, and their account.
  • Manages pricing for all assigned customers. Understands market pricing for distributors, contractors, and end users.
  • Considers the market conditions of their territory, customer needs, company objectives, and their territory goals in their daily decision making and applies sound judgment in their relative decision making.
  • Reviews customer trends and initiates action plans to address down customers, complete with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and validation of results.
  • Utilizes independent authority to change or accommodate the following as appropriate to accommodate customer and business needs: Customer Pricing, Freight Charges, Product Packaging Requirements, and Special Delivery Requirements.
  • Maintains an understanding of the metal building industry, relative products, competitors, new developments, and pricing structures.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet and exceed goals in the following areas: Sales, Gross Margin Pounds, Gross Margin Dollars, Pounds Shipped, and Return Material Authorization percentages.
  • Performs ongoing market analysis of the competition, their offerings, and market penetration.
  • Assists credit department in calling customers concerning past due balances. 
  • May be expected to cold call and prospect for new business to further develop market penetration.
  • Understands the product and market position of competition and CSMI value against those competitors.
  • Considers the market conditions of their territory, customer needs, company objectives, and their territory goals in their daily decision making and applies sound judgment in their relative decision making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Minimal travel required (approximately 10 percent)
