GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • SAFETY FIRST – Every employee of Cellofoam North America Inc. must demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
  • General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
  • Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, the Pre-Expander, Mold, Lamination Line, Block – Auto Line, Die Cutter, Slitter, Saws, Hot Wire Cutting Machines, Assembly requirements, etc. May also include changing a tool for a shape press or setting up equipment.
  • Verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, operate and shut down manufacturing equipment.
  • Verify order information, and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, shape and/or assembly within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards.
  • Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor; assist with routine cleaning.
  • Trouble shoot and make adjustments to equipment settings.
  • Responsible for training new employees.
  • Maintain proper work logs and complete required reports as necessary.
  • Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble and/or label materials per specific production instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehension of the English language, in both written and spoken form, is preferred.
  • Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand held measuring tools (i.e., ability to read a tape measure within 1/32”). 

Training Requirements:

  • General Safety.
  • Quality System Awareness.
  • Must be verified by supervisor to be able to sign off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 60 days of hire.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds; and safely operate assigned machinery.
