Currently, we are looking to add a Scientist I to the team:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of compounds on milligram to kilogram scale.
- Design routes of synthesis and synthesize novel chemical entities.
- Interpret analytical data and suggest additional tests to ensure product purity and identity.
- Carry out complex research and development projects.
- Prepare scientific papers and technical reports for clients and/or publication.
- Prepare accurate GMP Reference Standards data packets prior to submission.
- Assist in maintenance of laboratory equipment, evaluating and recommending equipment where necessary.
- Prepare weekly updates and slides for presentation at project meetings.
- Serve as an ‘area expert’ for a project or compound class, while mentoring junior chemists.
- May attend conferences representing Cayman and report back information acquired from the meeting.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field.
- Experience: 8 years (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), none (with PhD).
- Computer Skills: ChemDraw, SciFinder, Microsoft Office.
- Expertise in organic chemistry and the use of analytical tools such as NMR, Mass Spec, IR, UV, and HPLC is a must.
- Knowledge and understanding of GMP regulations.
- Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor, Monday through Friday.
