Catalent Pharma Solutions is hiring a Electrical Engineer – Facilities/Utilities. This position will support the plant/utility systems at Catalent Bloomington, Indiana and be a system owner of various processes and process support equipment systems. 

This is a full-time position.  The expected hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, although there will be periods of time during maintenance shutdowns or other initiatives where overtime and off-shift support is necessary

The Engineer will support ongoing activities by assisting in troubleshooting mechanical problems, identifying improvements in utilities to minimize interruptions (down time) and reduce energy usage/cost, and supporting new and ongoing projects.

The Role

  • Work with a group of engineers and technicians to provide electrical engineering support for the plant and clean utility systems.
  • Write change controls & respond to deviations.
  • Participate on interdisciplinary teams in defining direction to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for operational efficiency.
  • Provides technical solutions to complex problems by relying upon their experience and/or seeking recommendations from industry experts
  • Present complex problem solving and solutions to site leadership
  • Monitor project and CAPA scope, ensuring adequate actions and timely execution
  • Support the multi-use facility, including HVAC systems and bio-containment systems
  • Support selection and installation of manufacturing equipment
  • Proactively and effectively partner with the facility commissioning/validation team, including operational protocol development, to implement compliance with FDA GMP requirements
  • Draft SOPs for building operation, maintenance, and calibration
  • Identify improvements and efficiencies of facility preventative maintenance
  • Provide engineering guidance and execution on facilities and equipment projects
  • Maintain project compliance in accordance with the site quality management system
  • Guide the specification and selection of manufacturing/utility equipment to support site facility/ process needs
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or appropriate scientific discipline, required
  • 2+ years of Project Engineering related experience
  • Experience with project management in pharmaceutical, food, or biotechnology industry preferred. Ability to work well with cross functional teams, contractors, and other outside vendors
  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent a plus
  • Must be able to read and understand English-written job instructions and safety requirements
