Hours are Tuesday through Friday 3pm - 11:30pm, Saturday 7:30am-4pm 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for performing the maintenance of equipment, tools, buildings and grounds.
  2. Responsible for snow removal during regular and off hours (as applicable).
  3. Responsible for responding to campus fire alarms and assess fire alarm systems.
  4. Assists in performing in house remodeling and renovations.
  5. Make necessary repairs for daily operation that causes minimal disruption to Caron’s Community.
  6. Be available to provide emergency and extraordinary services during unscheduled work hours as directed by your supervisor.
  7. Perform safety checks of all mechanical rooms/areas as directed by supervisor.
  8. Will be required to be on-call for 7 days on a rotating basis.
  9. May assist with patient transportation.
  10. Must possess basic computer literacy skills to include but not limited to checking e-mail and retrieval and completion of work orders as well as preventative maintenance work orders.

  1.  Must be able to walk throughout the campus
  2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  3. Must be able to climb stairs and steps
  4. Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
  5. Must be able to use step and extension ladders not to exceed 40 feet
  6. Must be able to do repetitive and strenuous work.
  7. Must be able to work under extreme temperature variations.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 21 years of age or older.
  2. Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Driving Standards Policy.
  3. Must meet minimum requirements on Motor Vehicle Reports in accordance with Driving Standards Policy.
  4. High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
  5. If in recovery, 1-year continuous sobriety is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. General knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills.
  2. Must be able to demonstrate professional communication skills to include the ability to interact and work together with co-workers, patients, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  3. Must be able to assess campus fire alarm systems.
  4. Ability to read blueprints.
  5. Ability to work independently.
  6. Ability to follow written directions.
  7. Must be able to use basic tools pertaining to Maintenance.

COMPETENCIES/MEASUREMENTS:

  1. Being available to provide emergency and overtime service at times during unscheduled work hours dictated by business need. Must be flexible with schedule when given enough notice to do so. This will be measured through observation
  2. Must be competent in assess campus fire alarm systems. This will be measured through observation.
  3. Ability to follow through with requests as directed by the Supervisor of Maintenance, Lead Maintenance Technician and/ or Manager of Facilities. This will be measured by work orders and observation.
  4. Must be able to properly use tools pertaining to the Maintenance Department. This will be measured by observation and documentation.
  5. Must have and maintain a set of hand tools essential for the job. This will be measured by observation
  6. Ability to interact and work together with fellow coworkers, patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner in a team setting. This will be measured by observation.
  7. Ability to perform effectively before, during and after emergency situations. This will be measured by observation.
