Electrical Service Managers report to a Division Manager and are responsible for performing all assigned functions in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the commercial, industrial, and residential electrical construction industry. The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Operations

  • Accountable to management for furnishing accurate and updated information and for taking appropriate action as required.
  • Attend weekly meeting conducted by the Division Manager to review information and discuss upcoming workload.
  • Monitor and control the Company's established policies and procedures concerning, but not limited to:
    • Division Office Operations Procedures
    • The Hazard Communication Program.
    • Quality Assurance Program.
    • Substance Abuse Program.
    • Safety and Hot Work Program.
    • Policies concerning suppliers.
  • Profit/loss of assigned jobs/work orders.
  • Monitor and control the job processing responsibilities on assigned projects.
  • Monitor and control estimating including, but not limited to:
  • Ensure estimates are entered into the Estimate Log.
    • Ensure administrative processes and procedures are adhered to.
    • Review and approve estimates and design/build projects within authorized limits.
    • Preparation, bidding and re-estimate of assigned jobs and work orders.
    • Recommend changes concerning material, labor, and EPAS.
  • Preparation of pay request breakdowns, monthly pay requests, and weekly billings.
  • Purchasing of all material for assigned projects plus verification of orders placed.
  • Material approval submittal procedure.
  • Preparation, submittal and processing of change orders and revisions.
  • Accountable to management for, but not limited to:
  • Project related general, technical, and engineering problems (field and owner related).
  • Preparation and accuracy of Monthly Job Status Updates and Post Job Conference Reports.
  • Monitoring and controlling the expediting of materials and sub-contracts for assigned projects. Satisfactory completion of assigned projects.

Production

  • Accountable to management for reporting problems related but not limited to:
    • Labor, wages, productivity, and coordination.
    • Use of tools, trucks, and equipment.
    • Safety on the project and job site security for material, tools, and equipment.
    • Storage facilities.
  • Responsible for verifying the accuracy of the Monthly Job Productivity Reports.
  • Monitor, control and verify productivity of assigned jobs/work orders.
  • Ensure assigned jobs/work orders are being done in the most efficient and economical manner.
  • Monitor and control:
    • Wage rates, labor, training, and supervision of assigned jobs/work orders.
    • Number of trucks being driven to a work site.
    • Storage facilities on job sites.
    • Use, coordination and supply of division tools, trucks, and equipment.
    • Check jobs periodically to assure that the workers are starting and quitting work on time.

Marketing

  • Develop the division's local work in the areas of residential, commercial, and service work.
  • Make contacts with general contractors and residential and commercial developers.
  • Obtain new information on new general contractors and residential and commercial developers. Monitor the electrical construction market in the division's geographical area to identify potential customers and be responsible for initial contact of these customers.

Position Requirements:

Licenses:  Current/Valid state driver's license if required by job conditions; applicable federal, state, and local licenses as required by job conditions or by the company

Certifications:  Applicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company.

Education:  High School Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent Watson training. Experience - Required or necessary experience and/or training to assure all aspects of position are performed efficiently and productively while operating in accordance with policies and procedures of the company.

Working Conditions:

  • Majority of work is performed in office environment.
  • Visits to job sites require exposure to all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow), depending on time of year and job location.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required in Safety Handbook. Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required, night shifts; work out of town if needed.

Physical Function:

  • Hear and see well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Speak clearly.
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder, or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
