Position Overview: There is no per diem or re-location offered for this position – This position will perform manual labor, such as carrying materials, using hand tools, and assists crew members in day to day physical activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Performs strenuous manual labor such as raking, shoveling, digging, sewing grass, etc.
•Carries tools and hand held equipment from one place to another
•May operate equipment as needed, if trained, including front end loader, excavator, backhoe, skidsteer, and other construction equipment.
•Assists crew with duties as needed

Education and/or Experience:
•Experience with grading preferred

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
•Possession of a valid driver’s license, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
•Must have hand eye coordination
•Able to read and comprehend instruction, short correspondence, and memos.
•Able to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
•Ability to deal with problems/issues involving several concrete variable in standardized situations.
•Experienced working around heavy construction equipment.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
•Able to multiple task simultaneously
•Able to communicate to crew members in a professional and effective manner.
•Able to provide effective feedback to team members.
•Must have a strong work ethic

•Must be 18 years of age
•Able to pass pre-employment and random drug screen

Physical Demands: The physical demands below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
•Extensive physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature. Includes standing and sitting for extended periods of time, stooping, bending and crouching.
•Able to walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
•Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
•Visual accuracy under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions in order to provide safe directions for operators of heavy equipment and other employees.
•Able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment, and in and out of excavations and up to 20 feet in height
•Able to work overtime and weekends, if necessary
•Able to travel when required.
•Requires working from heights
•Coordination between hand, eyes, feet to guide equipment and objects is required
•Must be able to mount and dismount off of vehicles and equipment
•Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
•Able to push and pull with hands, arms, and feet repetitively
•Must have good visual and auditory physical capabilities in order to manage sights and sounds in a hazardous construction environment
•Able to be alert and cognitive of multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including awareness of other employees, subcontractors, machinery, equipment, and moving traffic when applicable

Environmental Working Conditions
•Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (i.e., rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)
•Noise level in the work environment is loud.
•Exposure to dust, grease, gasoline, diesel fuel, concrete, and other environmental factors of a construction job site.
•Work is performed near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
•Exposure to all elements of nature
•Exposure to all types of terrain
