 Are you a seasoned pro in civil estimating, ready to take charge and make a big impact? If so, we want you on our team! We're a leading contracting company seeking a dynamic Senior Civil Estimator to lead our estimating efforts and drive success in our projects.

The Senior Civil Estimator will be tasked with estimating the comprehensive scope of infrastructure projects, encompassing contracts with entities such as the NC Department of Transportation (“NCDOT”), municipalities, and commercial clients. In addition to accurate estimation, this role entails adept negotiation of pricing and adjustments to project scope and scale. Beyond this, responsibilities include engaging with existing clientele and cultivating relationships with potential new clients. While the role operates within general objectives, a minimum of five years' experience in estimating is required, with sales experience being advantageous. Please note that this job description outlines primary responsibilities and tasks; however, flexibility is essential as needs may evolve over time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the estimation process for civil projects, from initial bid to final proposal.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids
  • Utilize cutting-edge technology and industry best practices to streamline processes and optimize efficiency
  • Lead a team of estimators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster growth and excellence

Education and/or Experience

  • Extensive experience in civil estimating within the construction industry
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., B2W, AGTEK, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a knack for identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to engage with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards shared goals
