Primary Function
The Care Management Assistant provides secretarial, clerical, and administrative support for the Care Management Department.
Collaborates with RN Care Managers and Clinical Social Workers to complete clerical/technical tasks required to maintain the appropriate continuum of care and discharge planning.
The incumbent is also responsible for communication of clinical information to providers and payers, referrals, and coordination of insurance review.
Provides administrative support regarding the Department’s adherence to best practice standards, staff development initiatives, performance quality measures, and operational excellence.
Performs other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications and Specifications
- High school degree required. One year of college/business school preferred.
- Two years of healthcare experience with background in medical terminology, or two years as a medical assistant, customer service representative, or registration representative required.
