Insurance Product Manager
Job Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for the development, management, and monitoring of a business product within a defined geography, product line and/or function. Work as an innovative data explorer collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large telematics datasets to uncover actionable insights that directly impact our product strategy and performance. Be able to develop a clear vision of execution for profitability and growth, while providing analytical support and analysis for various departments in the company and to all levels of management. Responsible for coaching analysts while participating in talent selection, development and performance management. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Additionally, the ideal candidate will thrive working on the unknown, in a collaborative environment.
Major Accountabilities:
- Lead a team of analyst to provide product development, product maintenance, state rate revisions, and pricing support for all assigned commercial auto products.
- Collaborates across business lines and departments to identify and execute opportunities to advance product initiatives through competitor analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and state review processes.
- Develops and communicates actions plans around state rate review and deployment to achieve annual objections established by senior management and ensures alignment with long-term strategic plans
- Research and propose to Underwriting Management a quarterly analysis of rating variables, factors and other underwriting considerations on a statewide level to maximize profitability and meet market needs.
- Lead the submission of rate and rule filings, including amending the rating manual, handling objections from the DOI and coordinating the implementation of the updated rates with the necessary departments.
- Monitor pertinent insurance publications and ISO filings to determine impact on business lines or product.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis
- Act as liaison with Finance, App Dev, BI, Program Management, Claims, Actuarial and other departments to validate data integrity through policy systems and other rating systems related functions, providing knowledges ad feedback to best enable the platform(s) to meet company initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education/Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, business, statistics, computer science or related field
Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience of product analysis within Property Casualty insurance or related experience. Preferred CPCU
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership and management experience
- Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Strong statistical background and exposure in statistical modeling preferred.
- State rate review experience preferred.
Special Considerations:
Physical Requirements: Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written/in-person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 lbs.) Heavy use of computer and office equipment.
Travel/Hours of Service: Occasional travel may be required. Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
