Inventory Locator Service (ILS), a division of CAMP has helped customers by collecting data about parts available in the marketplace and organizing them into one user-friendly database. The new and used parts locator service developed by ILS has helped numerous customers in the aviation, marine, and defense sectors find the parts they need, streamline procurement, sell their parts inventory, improve their MRO services, and automate their supply chain operations.

Job Summary

As a Sr. Data Architect, you will report to the Manager of Database Services and will primarily participate in planning, designing and implementation of architecture to support web-based projects and ETL data ingestion. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills and experience in PL/SQL development and data modeling for developing tables, packages, and stored procedures for the ILS web-enabled marketplace. The candidate will also have experience with data loading and data scrubbing in an Oracle environment, as well as the capacity to transform data into meaningful intelligence.

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvements to optimize solution delivery, operations, and cost efficiencies.
  • Guiding project teams in area of expertise.
  • Ensure data architecture and standards meet the current and future needs of the business.
  • Produces high quality documentation to share with other Data Architects and Database Administrators to ensure good data governance practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve database performance issues.
  • Support data acquisition through web and document scraping.
  • Support data analytics and reporting to shape new business opportunities and advance capabilities to drive value to customers through market intelligence.
  • Discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking.
  • Demonstrates an interest in personal learning and development.
  • Advises, or is available to consult, on all projects during planning, design and development for new and existing products and features. Coordinates architectural design of database solutions with Application Architects to ensure development tasks meet existing and long-term Enterprise Architecture goals and data governance mandates.
  • Researches and learns new technologies to create novel solutions to address ongoing challenges and to continuously improve the ILS customer user experience and create new product offerings. Works with users to develop application prototypes and participates in R&D and the conception and development of proof-of-concept applications.
  • Keeps current on new features available on existing team tech stack.
  • Experience with problem identification and resolution using tools such as Oracle Explain Plans, OEM, AppDynamics, application error logs and Oracle alert logs to address production issues, ensure uptime and application SLAs and continuously improves the user experience.
  • Leads production issue and system incident remediation. Opens SRs, communicates and engages across teams and persists to resolution even when outside of regular business hours.
  • Sets and shapes coding standards and practices. Advises on code repositories, process improvement, continuous delivery architecture and helps maintain team documentation.
  • Identifies technical debt and process improvements to incorporate into yearly Architectural Projects.
  • Maintains and advances automation of development pipeline with tools to help continuous improvement, deployments, and unit testing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database technologies in a web environment. Ability to write efficient and complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code.
  • 7+ years of experience with performance tuning in an Oracle SQL environment.
  • 7+ years of experience with Data Modeling in OLTP and/or Data warehouse environments.
  • 4+ years of experience with Agile development.
  • 4+ years supporting micro-service architecture.
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting, resolving and optimizing Oracle production and customer experience issues.
  • Proven track record of innovation and/or process improvement which add business value through productivity enhancements or increased revenue.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aviation Industry Experience.
  • Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
  • Active in local Oracle user groups.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), ETL or Data loading.
  • Experience using Python or R for data acquisition and statisitical analysis
  • Experience with AppDynamics or other APM.
  • Experience with NoSQL.
  • Business Intelligence and Analytics Experience.
  • Linux command line and shell scripting.
  • Coursework or Certificate in Data Science.
  • Cloud based database technologies like Snowflake, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch or document data store search technologies.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI.
