Interior Designer and Supervisor
As an Interior Designer Professional and acting as a supervisor as your secondary role, you will manage the interiors team in work coordination, people development, and evaluation. You will support project managers on project assignments, deadlines, and coordinating staff workload. You will interact with clients to understand their needs and develop objectives, which you will address throughout each project as you coordinate with a multidiscipline team comprised of architects and engineers. You will lead clients through the interior design process, sculpting unique spaces that meet their needs using detailed finishes and furnishings. You will strive to realize clients’ visions, transforming their ideas into design decisions that lead to healthy and supportive spaces. You will also be involved in marketing efforts and interviews to help the firm capture projects, developing standards and processes, and working collaboratively with the multidiscipline team.
Responsibilities
Interior Design (80%)

Coordinate and lead both client and design team through all phases of the design process.

Programming and space planning, facilities planning, and developing of materials?specifications.

Create design concepts and material finish boards and present to clients to obtain support and approvals.

Prepare construction documents including finish plans, interior elevations, signage plans, equipment plans, interior details, and material and room finish schedules.

Manage project budgets associated with interior design; Advise clients of realistic budget expectations and constraints.

Inspect the physical installation of products in construction and renovation projects related to interior design in order to ensure contractual compliance.

Establish and periodically update a resource library of furnishings, office furniture, floor coverings, finishes, colors, fabrics, etc. from vendors and suppliers.

Develop and maintain process and graphics standards for the interior design discipline.

Other related duties as assigned.
Supervision (20%)

Hire, supervise, support, and develop staff on the interior design team.

Perform annual Performance Evaluations for staff

Facilitate and lead team meetings, schedule coordination and staffing on projects.

Participate in all staff meetings, internal committees, and other non-billable planning sessions.

Participate in training and development activities as needed and directed by supervisor.

Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, time sheet reviews, expense report reviews, completing correspondence, approving Paid Time Off, etc.
Competencies
-
Technical Knowledge: Possession of technical interior design skill or knowledge and the ability to keep up with current developments and trends in discipline. Knowledge of statuses/codes/ regulations, including program procedures, methods and practices, and their application to specific situations. Revit experience required for this role.

Interior Design and Analysis: Ability to identify, develop, and analyze?interior designs and/or specifications. Ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

Communication: Ability to communicate, in written and oral form, and graphic form, guidelines and standards/statutes/codes/regulations to various audiences to ensure that they understand the information and the message and understanding and approval.
Technical Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in Interior Design.

NCIDQ certification required, or able to obtain within one year of employment.

Three to five years’ experience in commercial interior design.
