Job Summary: The Production Interpreter will ensure accurate, timely and effective communication occurs between individuals who speak two different languages. This position will perform interpretation as needed within the organization while also performing all job duties and functions as noted in the Assembler Job Description.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

  • Interpret/translate prints, process sheets, training documents, and other documents related to production and/or company needs
  • Assist and interpret the training of procedures and quality standards for new assemblers, ensuring that they are properly trained. Will assist in the re-training of assemblers as needed. Training includes, but is not limited to the following:
    • Performing first piece inspections as well as quality checks accompanied by the required paperwork
    • Identifying parts and operating all equipment used in the assembly process
    • Identifying and properly tagging rejected parts
    • Setting up equipment or machines and performing simple adjustments
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality while interpreting for Supervisors and Human Resources in the administration of performance reviews, discipline, onboarding, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to work successfully in a team based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, and accountability
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment

Experience and General Skills Required:

  • Excellent bilingual verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate and interpret between two languages, including English
  • Read, learn and follow training, adhere precisely to written procedures
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Must be able to read and interpret detailed instruction, inspection procedures and product appearance
  • Ability to operate and instruct in the use of small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools, and measuring equipment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and/or specifications

Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing and walking. Some lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs.) is required. Some daily computer work is required.
